| Pictured here is the 2-1B figure reissue on Return of the Jedi 45-back card as released in France in 1983 by french licensee MECCANO.
This character was first introduced in 1982 during the Empire Strikes Back era, which were sold packaged in the famous typical French square cards. Return of the Jedi 45-back cards are pretty scarce to find since they were released during a very short timeframe, quickly upgraded to 65-back cards, just before Trilogo took over European lines. But 21B is even more difficult to find on ROTJ card, as a few other ESB-released figures, because it was not reissued on ROTJ 65-back when the whole ROTJ line was available. One reason could be that because ESB and ROTJ45 were produced with a short interval, there was no need to produce more with the ROTJ 65-backs. |
