Blue Snaggletooth Painted Hardcopy
Hardcopies are the figures cast from the original silicone molds made from the original wax sculpting. This is a fully-painted hardcopy for the only production figure to undergo the most drastic modifications as the result of miscommunication between Lucasfilm and Kenner. It's hand-cast in heavy polyurethane. You can see the size difference between it and the production figure on the right. Production figures are made with injection-molded plastic. These thermal-formed plastics are subject to shrinkage when they cool and is just a reality of the molding process. This is why the hardcopy is larger than the production version of the figure. The outfit on this Snaggletooth is handpainted in royal blue, the collar is black, and the face and hands are light grey. Color-wise, it closely matches the photo shown in a German in-pack catalog of the second series SW figures.

Here's the Snaggletooth shown with the pins, that attach the limbs, exposed. The pins are hollow metal tubes that are beveled on the very edges and press-fit into the limbs. They are copper in color. The mating surfaces for the joints have been sanded prior to painting for smooth contact and rotation. The figure will stand on it's own but the limbs are quite loose. More differences between a hardcopy and a production figure are that there are no copyright markings on the legs and no holes in the feet. The foot holes and leg markings (dates) are added to the steel molds and are not present at this stage of figure creation. In fact, the lettering is not even present at the time the molds are churning out first shot figures. The bottom of the feet on this figure are only partially painted and the tan color of the polyurethane material is easily visible.
