Catalog Description:

STAR WARS MICRO COLLECTION DEATH STAR ESCAPE

The Rebels must escape! This Action Playset features an "exploding" cannon that clicks and holds a STORMTROOPER, a manually operated bridge, a removable elevator assembly, and even a rope to swing LUKE SKYWALKER and LEIA ORGANA from one side to another. Set includes 6 unique Diecast Figures set in action poses! DEATH STAR ESCAPE connects with other DEATH STAR Playsets. Available Summer 1982. Ages 4 and up.

Description:
Truth be told, the Death Star Escape playset was kind of lame. Sure, it had a working elevator, a pop-up cannon and a weird looking "rope," but that didn't make up for the fact that two of its three levels had absolutely nothing on them-- no features, hardly even a neat looking decal. Oh well; at least its counterpart, the awesome Death Star Compactor, made up for its thorough lack of coolness.

The set came with six figures, including the only Micro representation of Luke in his white A New Hope outfit. It is also sometimes found in a plain white box, decorated only with the title of the toy. This package was used for catalog orders. Both the Death Star Escape set and its Compactor counterpart were included in the rare Death Star World ensemble package.
